Calibre worked on this rehabilitation project at the historic White Sands Visitor Center. Spanning 8,600 square feet, this two-story adobe building serves as a vital hub for visitor services, welcoming over 610,000 guests annually. Calibre’s team provided comprehensive services, including structural assessments and upgrades to meet current building codes and accessibility standards.
We addressed critical structural concerns, enhancing the building’s integrity by stabilizing the foundation and repairing the adobe’s unique Spanish Pueblo-Revival features. Our stormwater management solutions improved site drainage, ensuring the long-term preservation of the historic structure. By repurposing the adjacent restroom facility for interpretive needs and maintaining seamless public access throughout construction, Calibre added significant value to this cherished community landmark, enriching visitor experiences and fostering appreciation for the park’s cultural heritage.
