Calibre’s Whitewater Team led the development of the River Park Master Plan in Ketchum, Idaho, encompassing a 210.5-acre property along the stunning Big Wood River. Our team of experts conducted a comprehensive study focusing on sustainable recreational uses, incorporating beginner and intermediate whitewater channels with diverse features. We implemented engineering solutions for riverbank stabilization, habitat enhancement, and the creation of public amenities including picnic areas, restrooms, and a pedestrian bridge.
This project promotes trophy trout fishing and kayaking and revitalizes the river ecosystem, supporting both aquatic and riparian habitats. By facilitating public engagement and ensuring extensive stakeholder involvement, our team enhanced community collaboration and ownership of the project. The master plan, completed in 2012, positions the River Park as a vital recreational hub, positively impacting the community’s quality of life and connection to the natural surroundings.
