Calibre provided structural engineering services for the VA Portland Healthcare System, located in Portland, Oregon. The project involved the construction of a 3,750-square-foot addition to the surgical suite and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). Our comprehensive services included site investigation, design development, and the creation of detailed construction specifications.
This expansion provides essential support spaces, such as storage and equipment areas for the surgical suite and open bay recovery space for the PACU, significantly enhancing patient care capabilities. A unique feature of this project is the expansion of the interstitial space, allowing for improved mechanical systems integration.
By effectively addressing the specific needs of the healthcare environment, Calibre Engineering not only ensured compliance with stringent medical standards but also positively impacted the community by promoting better surgical and recovery experiences for veterans. We delivered a cost-effective solution, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in healthcare engineering.
