Calibre undertook a comprehensive stormwater master planning project for the 1,200-acre Original Aurora area in Aurora, Colorado. This initiative focused on drainage analysis, split-flow assessment, and the development of effective stormwater management strategies. Our team conducted detailed hydraulic modeling and evaluated storm drainage detention and water quality requirements, identifying critical projects to address flooding and enhance the infrastructure needed for future high-density redevelopment.
Unique features of the project included a full hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) analysis and an individualized split-flow evaluation of over 30 intersections, quantifying the impact of redevelopment on the existing system. Our efforts resulted in prioritized Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs) aimed at alleviating flooding and improving water quality.
