The Poudre River Park was developed to transform an abandoned diversion structure into a vibrant City Park that attracts visitors to the Poudre River. Following extensive feasibility studies by the City of Fort Collins, Calibre’s Whitewater Team collaborated with experts and regulatory authorities to incorporate a unique fish passage into the park.
The park features two drop structures within the new City Park, along with flood control measures designed to protect the city from future floods. It aims to engage the whole community with amenities including parking, access, restrooms, and trail connectivity.
The drop structures operate at varying flows, accommodating tubing and floating at lower levels and transforming into a surf park at higher levels. The park offers diverse recreational activities such as paddleboarding, tubing, kayaking, and rafting, making it a dynamic space for outdoor enjoyment.
