Calibre’s Whitewater Team proudly contributed to the Lee Valley Whitewater Centre, the iconic venue for the 2012 Olympics. Along with EPDUK, we were tasked with remaking the master plan design and creating advanced computer and physical models within just 12 weeks of receiving the contract. This state-of-the-art facility boasts the patented RapidBlocs™ movable obstacle system, revolutionizing slalom channels and enhancing competition environments for athletes.
Our team provided comprehensive services, from design and modeling to construction oversight, ensuring a fast, cost-efficient build completed in a record three weeks. Approved by the International Canoe Federation (ICF), the Centre features predictive flows that have been lauded by athletes and coaches alike. This project not only elevated the standards of competitive whitewater courses but also enriched the local community by hosting national and international events, fostering a thriving outdoor recreation culture.
