Construction workers in safety vests, overseen by a civil engineering team, pour and spread concrete from a cement truck onto a road surface, using specialized tools and machinery with cars and trees visible in the background.

This is an article about work that my favorite professor at CU Boulder has been doing. He’s created a way to use biology to make concrete that can regenerate and multiply. It would be really interesting to see how we could implement this in the design of retaining walls or pavement.

Additionally, I wonder about the imperviousness of the material since it contains bacteria and varieties of aggregate/sand mixtures.
